Seven Card Stud Hi/Low
Seven Card Hi/Low is, as expected, at the split-pot
version of the poplar Stud Poker game. Players try to gather either the highest, or
lowest possible hands. And if there is a qualifying low hand at the table, the pot
is split.
A qualifying low hand contains different numbered cards, none of
them can be higher than an 8. That's why the game is sometimes called 7 Card Stud, 8 or Better.
If you can find a poker room dealing Omaha, chances are it will be dealing
Omaha Hi/Low also. It doesn't work the same way with 7 Card Stud and
7 Stud Hi/Low. 7 Stud Hi/Low games are more difficult to come by.
Still, you can come by them. So if you're looking for a variation
on the old Stud game that keeps more people in the hand until the end, you can visit the following poker
rooms:
Empire Poker -
is a popular Poker Room, which matters because you can't play by yourself. They offer a welcome bonus to new
players, and have a "live" floorperson you can chat with to
help you with any questions you might have. I called one at 7:30 in the morning once, just to see if they were working
at that hour. I was kindof impressed.
Party Poker -
is another popular poker room. They offer a $25 bonus to new players, and have a full line-up of promotions in place. That includes
their Party Poker.Com Million III - a tournament with nearly $1.5 million in prize money.
Planet Poker -
also deals games of 7 Card Stud Hi/Low. In fact, they have a nice selection of poker games to choose from. They also have a
full line-up of promotions. That includes their "Wandering Pros" program, where you can choose to test your skills
against their professional poker players in a friendly, affordable game of poker.
